Our Legacy
1892
Hart & Co is established and produces lighting.
1919
Hart embarks on mass production in steel and aluminium products. It is during thie time that another company, Utilities Ltd is formed by Mr John Hart; all under the Hart banner which starts to product plastic mouldings.
1930
Hendler & Hendler buys 30 acres of land in Boksburg (where we still stand today) and they now becoming household names in the Aloe stainless steel and Impala enamelware sector.
1960's - 1970's
The two companies continue to work independently and both enjoy much popularity and success in South Africa.
1989
Hart Limited and Hendler & Hart merge and become Hendler & Hart (Pty) Ltd. Hendler & Hart then becones the leading producer of houseware products in South Africa.
2000
Hendler & Hart is bought over by its current owner. Hendler & Hart (Pty) Ltd grows from strength to strength and continues to produce houseware products under the brand names such as Hart, Aloe, Caterpride and Impala.
2017
Partnership between Hendler & Hart and GROUP SEB. Hendler & Hart celebrates 125 years.
2020
Hendler & Hart launches Nice & Clean hand sanitizers. The pharmaceutical-grade products form part of the Hart brand and were introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
2022
Hendler & Hart proudly commemorates 130 years of fostering a culture of community and culinary excellence.
